I read it to get better insight into the Gesher Benot Ya'aqov area of Israel during the middle Pleistocene, when Homo erectus was emigrating from Africa to the world. Yes, I got some of that, though the author refused to draw inference||It is wonderful to have this superb monograph shortly after the late Desmond Clarks detailed publication of the wooden objects from his seminal excavations at Kalambo Falls.
