Volume II looks at the rich, stratified desposits excavated in Area 16 East in the Neolithic and Late Bronze Age settlement on the banks of the River Thames in Berkshire. There is a general discussion of the accumulation of refuse, and chapters on the stratigraphic sequence and the different categories of finds. Of particular interest is the rare survival of debris from prehistoric pottery and the high proportion of pig remains.
